Volunteers in Policing (ViPS)
VIPs are integral to supporting the patrol operations of the Celina Police Department at major incidents and special events.
We are proud to be a part of the inaugural volunteer program for the Celina Police Department. Chief Cullison has requested that the Celina Community Police Foundation be the starting point for this exciting community program which will be open to the general public soon.
There are two main aspects of the VIP Program, Patrol Volunteers and Administrative Volunteers. Both will receive training specific to their duties and will be expected to contribute a minimum number of volunteer hours per quarter.
The VIP Program is a citizen volunteer program that partners Celina residents with the Celina Police Department in a variety of ways, including being on patrol as a second set of “eyes and ears” in the community, and assisting CPD with non-law enforcement duties such as directing traffic, providing event support, manning road closures, picking up lost and found property, and providing support internally, such as front desk support and more.
Currently, the Foundation is working with CPD on the following items:
Policy Creation of the VIP Program
Training Guidelines and Handbook for VIP Participants
Uniform Design & Creation
Vehicle Design & Purchase
Volunteers of the Celina Community Police Foundation will be among the first to be able to join this exciting program, slated to begin in 2023. VIP Members must also have attended and graduated from the Citizens Police Academy.
