Support Local on #GivingTuesday 2022

Nonprofits, community organizers, grassroots groups, and mutual aid networks from all over the world have been using GivingTuesday as a galvanizing moment for their communities since 2012. The Celina Community Police Foundation is proud to participate in Giving Tuesday by offering a simple way for the community to give back and support their mission well into the future.

Founded in 2021, the Celina Community Police Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity managed entirely by Celina citizen volunteers and graduates from our Celina Citizen's Police Academy. The mission of the Foundation is to enhance, support, and fund programs that build relationships between our community and its law enforcement partners.

In 2022, the Foundation became a registered charity and had a powerful impact on the community policing initiatives of the Celina Police Department. These included:

• Operation Cowboy Hat; providing the first round of cowboy hats to all officers in Celina PD as a way of building relationships in our neighborhoods.

• Funding the first round of uniforms and equipment for the new Volunteers in Policing (VIP) program of CPD.

• Funding a portion of the Celina Citizen's Police Academy and providing logistical support and volunteers through our CPA Committee members.

• Creating the "Celina Backs the Blue" campaign and raising awareness of National Police Week, distributing signs across yards in Celina to show our support.

• Donating to the Blue Santa program and giving back to families in need right here in Celina.

• Working in partnership with community sponsors to provide high-tech breaching tools to Celina PD and the Celina ISD SROs (more on that coming soon!).

• Creating the "Behind the Badge" program, recognizing deserving officers of Celina PD to the public.
